If learning to make lace was ever on your bucket list, this course is perhaps now for you.
Here you can immerse yourself in learning Torchon lace based on the Bruges international colour code, which is used worldwide.
Working the lace and the colour code are learned step by step so that you will have fully mastered the basics at the end of the course.
A few examples of aspects covered during the course:- The basic stitches
- Edges with pin after 2, pin after 4
- Setting up with plaits
- The different grounds
- Diamonds
- Zigzags in grounds
- Spiders, etc.
Everyone will work at their own pace and level; the course is adapted to the individual level.
On Friday afternoon, under the guidance of Katelijne Debaene, a foretaste of making working diagrams to improve understanding of reading patterns.
After this course, you will already be equipped to work some simple little laces by yourself.
