Butterflies.... sweet, high-spirited, beautiful, elegant.... a lace motif which has been worked a lot and is still made and is very popular. The idea of "butterflies" quickly inspired a series of lace designs, meticulously drawn and worked by our Binche working group, made up of "passionate lacemakers".

The book contains eight pieces of lace:  bookmarks, medallions and a fan (no sewing on to fabric!), each with the working diagram in colour, pricking and a lovely photo of the finished lace. For each decorative ground you also get a detailed drawing to enable you make the ground perfectly, and with explanations in no less than 6 languages.

For the fan, a beautiful, specially created and custom-made wooden frame is also available from the Kantcentrum.

I really enjoyed creating this project and the group worked hard with much dedication and love to draw and work these pieces of lace.  With this publication we wanted to share our creations, and we hope that they will give much pleasure to all lacemakers as they work them.
