Ulrike Voelcker's book contains fourteen Binche laces with working methods, patterns, photos and technical color drawings. As suggested in the title, the technical focus here is on snowflakes in different variations. Contrary to what is traditionally done for Binche, a cord is used here, as in the Mechelen side.
The patterns are mostly floral arabesques that are partly inspired by the Jugendstill.
