Guatambu is a type of wood that is sometimes called 'Ivory wood'. The tree is found in South America; the wood in Belgium is imported from Paraguay.
The colour is whitish, resembling ivory, to pale light brown. The wood has a good wear resistance.
Guatambu has an even structure, no pronounced markings, and is sometimes decorated. The texture is fine and regular. That is why it is smooth and easy to process and finish

The heartwood belongs to the natural durability class IV.
